A Month of Adventures and Surprises

Hello fellow adventure seekers!

I hope you haven’t forgotten about us as we’ve been a bit MIA lately. I have a great reason though so it’s all good. The last few weeks have been a whirlwind of excitement, unexpected adventures and… a proposal! I wanted to take a moment and catch you up on all the action.

Athens

Athens

Scooter riding through the ancient streets of this historic city was certainly an adventure in itself!

Sharm El Sheikh

The minute we arrived in Sharm El Sheikh, we were in paradise.

Cairo

Little did I know that there was a surprise waiting for me amidst the golden dunes and pyramids!

Nexus Alicante BJJ

Our October began with an amazing trip to Nexus, a new martial arts school in Alicante.

We were invited, along with other members of Matrix Martial Arts, to the initiation class and first opening to the public. The premises and professors were great and we felt so welcome, we definitely look forward to visiting again in the future! Check out their website and details by clicking NEXUS below.

Then, I decided I would take Christian on in a Jiujitsu takedown and my shoulder took the impact! I tore a ligament and damaged a tendon but one full month later and the pain is decreasing. Whilst I’m usually the one who leads the daring activities, this unfortunate accident meant I had to take a step back. I’ll get him next time, don’t worry. Life goes up and down but we adapted and still had an incredible month with lots of painkillers. A week later, we set off for the first part of our trip.

Athens Scooter Escape

We started our trip with Athens. Neither of us had been to Athens before and we wanted to see as many attractions as possible in limited time. After our scooter tour in Florence was so fun, we decided to rent scooters privately from Athens E-scooter Rental. Riding through the ancient streets of this historic city was certainly an adventure in itself! This is one of the activities I could manage after strapping my arm up and hanging on one-handed – if you’d like an activity with even more of a kick, I certainly recommend poor balance and a painkillers addition to this activity! Our scooters let us explore most of the city in one day which was great, especially because that’s all the time we had.

Sharm El Sheikh’s Underwater Paradise

From Athens, we made our way to the stunning shores of Sharm El Sheikh. The journey there involved an overnight airport stop in Cairo which was absolutely horrendous. Think ‘staff shamelessly picking skin off of feet’ horrendous. You’ll need to check back later in the month for that the full story! Luckily, the minute we arrived in Sharm El Sheikh, we were in paradise. This coastal haven in Egypt is famous for its mesmerising diving and snorkelling opportunities, it was not difficult to see why. The Red Sea’s crystal-clear waters revealed a breath-taking world beneath the surface and we soaked up every moment.

Cairo Quad Bikes and a Proposal!

Our adventure took a romantic turn in Cairo when we decided to explore the desert on quad bikes for our 5 year anniversary. The arid landscape was the perfect backdrop for our adrenaline-fueled excursion. I was in a bit of a mood for the start of this activity as I usually ride my own quad bike, but with the injury, I had to strap my arm up and hang onto the back of Christian. Little did I know that there was a surprise waiting for me amidst the golden dunes and pyramids. In the middle of this activity, we stopped for photos and I was met with the most amazing marriage proposal and, of course, I said YES!

I am very happy to share that Christian and I are now engaged and very much looking forward to the next chapter in our adventures together!
